Horizontal directional drillingA steered pilot bore between entry and exit points, enlarged by reaming; the product pipe is pulled back through it.
Jack pushingPipes jacked from a shaft along the line of the drive; the pipe string forms the finished pipeline.
Microtunnelling / TBMRemote-controlled, laser-guided machine ahead of the jacked pipes, where line and gradient must be held precisely.
Pipe burstingAn existing pipe is fractured outward while a new pipe of equal or larger diameter is drawn into its place.
GRP and CIPP liningAn existing pipeline renewed from within by a glass-reinforced or cured-in-place liner.
